That the Parliament applauds what it sees as the success of the recent 2016 Orkney Food and Drink Awards, which were held at Stromness Academy; recognises that this is the second celebration of the awards following their relaunch in 2014 by Orkney Food and Drink; understands that the awards were supported by sponsorship from Northlink Ferries and Highland Park Distillery and that the shortlist was drawn up following a public vote that attracted 4,000 nominations; further understands that the 16 prestigious categories ranged from Best Breakfast to Best Customer Service; warmly congratulates the nominees and winners, and thanks them on their contribution to further enhancing what it sees as Orkney's reputation for excellent food and drink.
