Grab a quick snack to go, or sit in and enjoy a hearty lunch.

 

The Parliament café is open to all visitors. There’s a range of food including pastries, sandwiches and soup. Homemade scones and parliament shortbread are freshly baked daily.

We can cater for sugar-free (diabetic), vegetarian, gluten-free (celiacs), lactose-free (dairy-free), nut-free and halal specific diets.

Opening hours

Monday, Friday and Saturday, including public holidays –

  • 10am to 5pm (last orders 4.45pm)

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, when parliament is sitting –

  • 9am to 6pm (last orders 5.45pm)

Menu

Hot Food – Served from 11.30am

  • Soup – Chef`s soup of the day served with crusty bread, vegetarian – £4.90
  • Potato – Baked potato with one filling of your choice (choose from vegetable chilli, cheese, coleslaw, baked beans or tuna mayonnaise) – £5.25

The following dishes are available between 12pm-2pm:

  • Macaroni – macaroni pasta in a cheddar cheese sauce served with garlic bread, vegetarian – £5.50
  • Fish – MSC breaded plaice fillet served with chips, lemon and tartare sauce – £7.95
  • Haggis – West Lothian haggis, bashed neeps, tatties and peppercorn sauce – £5.50

Sandwiches

  • West Lothian haggis, Ayrshire bacon and broon sauce bloomer (toasted) – £4.80
  • Beetroot falafel with rocket and sweet chilli mayonnaise on bloomer, vegan – £4.80
  • Scottish smoked salmon, cream cheese, rocket and cucumber croissant – £4.80
  • Free range egg mayonnaise and cress bloomer, vegetarian – £4.40
  • Ayrshire ham and McClelland’s cheddar cheese baguette (can be toasted) – £4.80
  • Savoury cheese n` chives and grilled peppers bloomer, vegetarian – £4.80
  • Tuna mayonnaise and sweetcorn baguette (can be toasted) – £4.80
