That the Parliament welcomes the recent announcement that Labour-led South Lanarkshire Council will invest £44 million in a modern housing development in East Whitlawburn; notes that the development will see all 380 properties demolished to make way for new, modern homes, which will consist of a mix of social housing and properties for sale; understands that several consultation events took place with residents, which resulted in 80% supporting full redevelopment of the area, and believes that the housing proposals will improve the East Whitlawburn community.
