  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 02 February 2021
  • Motion reference: S5M-24031

That the Parliament welcomes an additional £26,000 from NatureScot for improvements to the John Muir Way, a section of which stretches through the Falkirk area; understands that this new money brings the total received to £111,000 for the John Muir Way path networks across Scotland and will help to improve accessibility for all by providing increased access opportunities through the resurfacing of paths and removing of barriers; considers the regeneration programme of the John Muir Way to be important as around 70% of the population live within five miles of the John Muir Great Trail; appreciates the importance of the John Muir Way in preserving Scotland’s natural, cultural and industrial heritage; congratulates those involved in achieving this additional funding, and looks forward to the project’s completion.
