  • Date lodged: Thursday, 10 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23663

That the Parliament congratulates Ecologia Youth Trust on receiving a grant from the Inspiring Futures programme funded by BBC Children in Need and the Youth Futures Foundation; notes that the charity, which also works with young people and children facing disadvantage in countries such as Uganda, Kenya and Russia has, since 2016 with its Growing2gether in the Community programme, been supporting the Scottish Government with initiatives such as closing the attainment gap and giving young people in Scotland the best life chances by equipping them with the necessary social capital, life and work skills; understands that Growing2gether in the Community seeks to improve young people’s mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as giving them life skills to help them succeed in work; understands that this grant will support young people to deliver ten youth-led projects to strengthen their community and also give eight young people the opportunity to have paid roles as Young Leader facilitators on community projects; recognises that the projects will be delivered online and under COVID-19 social distancing rules, and wishes the project every success for the future.
