That the Parliament congratulates the Aberdeen City Council Labour Leader, Jenny Laing, on being named Council Leader of the Year at the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) Scotland Awards ceremony on 24 November 2020; understands that Councillor Laing was recognised for her work in leading Aberdeen through the local lockdown and for encouraging partnerships with others, as well as for the introduction of a net-zero vision for Aberdeen City Council; notes that LGiU also acknowledged that Councillor Laing’s policies and leadership have inspired other local authorities, and commends all those at Aberdeen City Council who have contributed to these achievements.
