  • Submitted by: Angus MacDonald, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 28 October 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23131

That the Parliament congratulates the former Falkirk player and manager, and dedicated "Bairn", Alex Totten, on being made Lifetime Ambassador for the club; notes that Alex has seen much success with Falkirk, including taking the side to the 1997 Scottish Cup Final, for the first time since winning the tournament in 1957; understands that he is known as "Mr Falkirk" and has supported the team since he was young; believes that he counts his proudest moment with the club as the 1997 final, when he became the first manager ever to lead out a team wearing a kilt; notes the considerable impact of the club on the community; believes that such clubs are the lifeblood of grassroots football in Scotland; thanks Alex for his dedicated service to Falkirk and the supporters over the years, and wishes him every success in his role as Lifetime Ambassador.
