That the Parliament welcomes news that the UK Space Agency has approved plans for Lockheed Martin to develop UK launch operations from the Shetland Space Centre in Unst; understands that approval of the plans could create hundreds of space jobs for Scotland, including a significant number in Shetland; believes that this development will be a major economic boost for the Islands and for the wider region; congratulates all involved in bringing the UK Pathfinder Launch to Shetland, and recognises the work that is going on across governments and industries throughout the UK to help push forward Scotland’s innovative space industry.
