Heriot-Watt University Announces Strategic Development in Dubai

That the Parliament acknowledges the delivery of a major new Heriot-Watt University campus in the heart of Dubai; understands that the university recently signed an agreement with the TECOM Group, which is part of the Dubai Government’s sovereign investment vehicle; notes that, in 2021, the university will move to a new state-of-the-art, seven-storey building in the Dubai Knowledge Park, which is adjacent to a vibrant business community; acknowledges that the Dubai campus is a key part of the university’s future, which is set out in its new Strategy 2025 plan; commends Heriot-Watt University Dubai which, since its opening in 2005, has grown into what is considered one of the largest and most comprehensive international university campuses in the UAE, now supporting around 4,000 students on campus, which represents 19% of the Dubai Higher Education market; understands  that Scottish students benefit greatly from opportunities to study at the university’s campuses in Dubai and Malaysia, bringing a global perspective to their studies, and applauds the alumni community of around 132,000 people in 190 countries which it considers delivers tremendous benefit to industry and society around the world, providing specialist skills and knowledge to enable positive change.
