Arbroath Group Wins Public Vote for Lottery Funding

  • Submitted by: Bill Bowman, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 07 May 2019
  • Motion reference: S5M-17209

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Skilz Academy, a local community group in Arbroath, has won a public vote to secure £49,988 of lottery funding; understands that this is part of 2019's The People's Projects and that the group won over the public with its plans to expand the current Glow Sport programme, which has been running in partnership with Active Schools Angus in other Angus towns and Dundee; further understands that the Arbroath-based project was one of five groups in STV North to compete for a share of funding, and wishes the group continued success with its projects.
