That the Parliament congratulates the winners and finalists of the Falkirk Herald Business Awards 2018, which were presented at the Airth Castle Hotel and Spa on 22 November; notes that a range of firms and organisations, from sole entrepreneurs to businesses with over 200 employees, were honoured for their achievements, with 13 trophies presented; acknowledges that the award for Outstanding Achievement of the Year was presented to Lynkeos Technology Ltd, which was also named the Best Start-up; understands that it is the only muon imaging company in the UK, with its technology being able to identify small fragments of nuclear fuel in heavily-shielded containers, and that it recently delivered its first commercial system to Sellafield; acknowledges that Brian Flynn and Jane Lafferty, of the popular Falkirk hostelry, Behind the Wall, were named as the Business Personalities of the Year, in recognition of their business’s continued success and support for community events and causes; recognises that Central Demolition Ltd was named as the Best Large Business and won the award for Best Business in the Community, Elite Recovery Falkirk Ltd was named the Best Small Business, the Torwood Garden Centre won the Best Independent Business category, Carr’s Hill was named as the Best Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism Business, FBS Plumbing Solutions Ltd won the prize for Best Sales and Marketing, the Best Growth Business was LOC Hire Ltd, Forth Valley Community Focus CIC was recognised as the Best Social Enterprise, KM Fitness won the Best Customer Service title, Craig MacDonald was the Young Entrepreneur of the Year and that highly commended certificates were presented to Kersebrock Kabins, Enhanced Facial, Allied International UK Ltd, Site Sealants and Storage UK; believes that the variety of nominations highlights that the entrepreneurial spirit and business confidence is alive and well in the Falkirk district, and wishes all of the winners and finalists continued success.
