People’s Health Trust Grant Awards

That the Parliament thanks the People’s Health Trust for recently awarding grants to the WHALE Arts Agency and Oxgangs Neighbourhood Centre in the Edinburgh Pentlands constituency; notes that the People’s Health Trust is an independent charity that invests in local communities to help create a society without health inequalities; congratulates the WHALE Arts Agency on receiving £13,638, which will support an existing two-year project that provides support to women in the Wester Hailes area who experience anxiety, isolation, depression and other issues of ill-health and disability, and the Oxgangs Neighbourhood Centre on its award of £29,682, which will support a two-year project to create a “community oasis” in its community garden in order to support people who face mental health issues and social isolation, and commends all parties for working for the betterment of health in the Edinburgh Pentlands area.
