  • Motion reference: S5M-10893

That the Parliament recognises the Bronx Boxing Gym in Tranent, which has launched a new crowd funding campaign to raise money to bring boxing to young people in the community; understands that the gym is run as a non-profit organisation by a committee of volunteers, who hope it can serve as a place not just for those interested in boxing but as one where all young people can go for support; notes that the gym has produced both an Eastern District champion and a Commonwealth Games Squad member; understands that it aims to raise £5,000, which will go towards the cost of competition fees, travel, equipment and kit; notes that the gym's coaches not only give up their free time to coach the youngsters, but also contribute to the rent on the gym so that they can keep training; commends all those involved with the Bronx Boxing Gym on their efforts to improve the lives of young people in their community, and wishes the gym all the best in the future.
