  • Submitted by: Michelle Ballantyne, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 30 January 2018
  • Motion reference: S5M-10196

That the Parliament commends housing officer, Ann Yourston, from Penicuik, who has joined with Alzheimer Scotland, as part of the new year campaign, Challenge Dementia; notes that the campaign urges the nation to shake off the January blues and sign up to a sporting challenge in 2018, to support people living with dementia across Scotland; understands that Ann Yourston, along with her friend, Ann Robertson, will be taking part in a Great Wall of China trek in October 2018, a hiking adventure that covers 36km over five days; recognises that the pair hope to raise up to £3,000 for the charity, and wishes them luck with their adventure.
