That the Parliament congratulates Carr Gomm on raising over £1,760 at a recent fundraising event held at The Scott’s restaurant in Grangemouth; understands that the money raised will help to provide support to people living with loneliness and social isolation; recognises the work undertaken by the Scottish Government in partnership with public and third sector organisations through the provision of the Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund, which aims to support projects tackling these societal issues, which affect people of all ages and backgrounds; understands that, in particular, 10% of older people feel lonely and can go over a week without having contact or seeing anyone; encourages the Scottish Government to continue working towards ending loneliness and isolation, and calls for further nationwide dialogue on what further progress can be achieved.
