That the Parliament congratulates the Keith Grammar School's (KGS) remotely-operated vehicle (ROV) group, impROVise, on being named overall winners and scooping the Safety Award at the regional finals of the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) competition, which were held at Robert Gordon University; understands that the KGS team took part in four challenges on the day that simulated real life jobs expected of an ROV and its pilot, with the aim to test various features of its vehicle such as durability, speed and capability, and also gave a presentation of its project; notes that the group is run by Steven Tubbs, who is the Principal Teacher of Technical Education at the school, and meets every Wednesday after school where it works on its vehicle; commends the group's professional and enthusiastic approach, having styled itself as a business and designing business cards, a pull-up banner and modelling its own unique uniforms; understands that the KGS team will now represent Scotland at the MATE worldwide finals in June 2017, travelling to Long Beach City College in California with funding provided for six members; wishes the group success with fundraising to ensure that all 12 members of the group can attend, and further wishes the team every success when it gets there.
