That the Parliament welcomes the roll-out of high-speed fibre broadband in Scotland, which, it believes, will provide benefits for businesses and small enterprises in rural areas; understands that, in North Uist, this has given a boost to the online music school, Your Space Music Lessons, which was launched by the music teacher and islander, Olwen Macleod in 2014 from a base in Lochmaddy; believes that this online platform, and its 14-member music team, is now helping over 200 pupils from around the world learn a range of instruments, including the bagpipes, and is one of a number of online enterprises benefitting the island's economy by bringing business from all over the world; understands that the school signed up for superfast broadband following a £146 million investment by Digital Scotland into a new fibre broadband network across the Highlands and Islands, and notes that the investment is funded by the Scottish and UK governments, Highlands and Island Enterprise and BT, with engineers from Openreach delivering it on the ground.
