That the Parliament celebrates the seventh consecutive Orkney Storytelling Festival, which brings some of the world’s best storytellers together throughout the islands; notes that the festival is supported by the Scottish International Storytelling Festival as part of its outreach programme; recognises the partnership with the Scottish Storytelling Centre that importantly ties Orkney into a global community of support; acknowledges the hard work of the Orcadian Story Trust in organising the festival in venues throughout the islands, and considers that the festival, which runs from 26 to 30 October 2016 forms an important part of Orkney’s wide and rich culture.
