That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen City Council on winning two awards at the Green Apple Environmental Awards; notes that Powering Aberdeen and Earth Hour, which are both part of Climate Week 2016, were presented for promoting the change to a smart, low-carbon city and for raising awareness of Climate Week; understands that the awards recognise environmental best practice around the world; recognises that, as well as the awards success, Aberdeen City Council gained Super Local Authority Status with WWF in 2016 for its continued efforts with partners on Earth Hour and Climate Week events; commends the council for its commitment to environmental initiatives, and supports the growth of current and future projects.
