That the Parliament congratulates muralist Chris Rutterford and his team on the vibrant Colinton Tunnel mural; understands that the mural, which was painted on an old Victorian railway tunnel that had latterly become a neglected pathway, has transformed Colinton Tunnel into Scotland’s largest historical mural; recognises the mural as a significant addition to the landscape of the area, celebrating the 600-year-old village’s heritage through beautifully rendered period scenes celebrating the industrial, social, artistic and literacy history of Colinton’s community; further recognises the leadership and contributions of Mike Scott and Eddie Banks to the completed mural, as well as the support of volunteers and funders, including many local residents and businesses; notes that the mural forms part of a wider initiative to create an art trail linking the Colinton Tunnel to the village, enhancing local tourism and community pride, and looks forward to new scenes being added to the mural in years to come.
