As an amendment to motion S6M-19970 in the name of Shirley-Anne Somerville (Uniting Local and National Efforts Across Sectors to End Violence Against Women and Girls), insert at end “; recognises the need to deter the violence of commercial sexual exploitation, including prostitution, by criminalising the purchase of sex and supporting those exploited in prostitution, and acknowledges that the majority of women and girls in prostitution are coerced, exploited or trafficked, and that third parties advertise, arrange, profit from or facilitate such exploitation online.”
