That the Parliament congratulates the efforts and successes of the Shetland athletes at the 20th International Island Games, which were hosted by Orkney from 12 to 18 July 2025, and saw athletes from 24 island communities compete across 12 sports; congratulates the Shetland team on winning 17 medals in cycling, athletics, lawn bowls, archery and triathlon; recognises the contribution of all Shetland athletes who competed, with 146 competitors and 29 officials from Shetland attending the games; congratulates the organisers of the 2025 Island Games for hosting a successful event; thanks the Orcadian community for extending their hospitality to island athletes from around the world; pays tribute to all volunteers who contributed their time to make the games a success, and looks forward to the next Island Games, to be held in the Faroe Islands in 2027.
