Congratulating Denise Carmichael on Winning the Health Walk Volunteer Manager of the Year Award

That the Parliament congratulates Denise Carmichael, a project manager, on her work in transforming walking routes in the Scottish Borders; notes that Denise was awarded the Health Walk Volunteer Manager/Project Coordinator of the Year award at the 2023 Volunteer Awards; understands that Denise joined the Walk It organisation in 2009, which aims to reduce health inequalities in the Borders; believes that, in her role, Denise has worked tirelessly to recruit, train and develop a team of around 100 dedicated and active Walk Leaders, and understands that the Walk It group now facilitates 42 weekly health walks across the Scottish Borders.
