Kirkwall Care Home Manager Retires After 30 Years

That the Parliament pays tribute to Shirley Miller on her retirement as manager of St Rognvald’s House care home, in Kirkwall; notes that Shirley has worked at St Rognvald’s for over 30 years, and has been manager since 2015; understands that Shirley’s retirement was marked with a special celebration with cake and gifts on 28 April 2023, with care home residents and staff in attendance; commends Shirley’s commitment to returning to St Rognvald’s as a volunteer in retirement, to continue to serve the community and do the job that she loves; acknowledges Shirley’s belief that caring is not "just a job", and that it offers a sense of fulfilment and meaning; celebrates all those who do what it sees as the crucial and important work of providing care to those who need it, and hopes that Shirley will have a long and happy retirement.
