Santa Benarty and His Elves Spread Festive Cheer

  • Submitted by: Annabelle Ewing, Cowdenbeath, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 26 January 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07648

That the Parliament recognises the work of Santa Benarty and his elves, who sought to spread festive cheer through the communities of Benarty; understands that they began their tour of Benarty on 10 December 2022 as they made their way around the area, meeting local children and putting smiles on their faces; notes that the event was sponsored by Advance Plumbing and Heating, Benarty Funeral Directors, and Benarty Community Council; understands that 2022 was the busiest year for the organisers, with the Santa tour becoming a staple event in the local calendar; recognises that Santa Benarty and his elves held off returning to the North Pole until 7 January 2023 as they were visiting a local Ukrainian Family, who had fled the war, and who were celebrating Christmas as they would have done at home; thanks all those involved with Santa Benarty, and wishes Santa and his elves a very well-deserved rest until Christmas 2023.
