  • Motion reference: S6M-07504

That the Parliament congratulates Robert Strang, of Carradale, Kintyre, on being awarded a King’s Fire Service Medal in The King’s New Year Honours list 2023; acknowledges that Robert has been a volunteer firefighter at Carradale Community Fire Station since July 1987, and understands that he has been a strong advocate in improving processes, efficiency and policies in his time at the station for the benefit of other on-call volunteer firefighters; believes that this work has been instrumental in changing the way that volunteer firefighters across Argyll and Bute are deployed in emergency incidents; praises what it sees as the transformation of the fire station under Robert’s leadership to proactively support the local community and charities, with volunteers raising over £50,000 for local and national charities, and wishes Robert all the best for the future and thanks him for his dedicated service to his community.
