  • Motion reference: S6M-06876

That the Parliament congratulates Shetland businesses Shetland Seabird Tours – the Noss Boat and Wild Skies Shetland for winning the Best Visitor Attraction Experience and Working Together for Tourism Awards, respectively, at the Highlands & Islands Tourism Awards 2022; understands that Shetland Seabird Tours operate daily tours to the National Nature Reserve at Noss from Lerwick to showcase Shetland’s marine wildlife to visitors and that Wild Skies Shetland is a volunteer-run charity that aims to showcase Unst skies and works with other organisations to do so; notes that this is the first time that two Shetland businesses have won awards at the same time and considers this a recognition of the high quality of the tourism sector in Shetland; commends both businesses for their hard work, and wishes them well in the national final of the Scottish Thistle Awards by VisitScotland in February 2023.
