  • Submitted by: David Torrance, Kirkcaldy, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 04 April 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-03877

That the Parliament congratulates Bennochy Community Hub SCIO, in Kirkcaldy, on receiving Scottish Land Fund funding of £316,250; understands that this will allow the group to take over ownership of Bennochy House (Polish Community Club) and to continue to operate it as a social and recreational centre; notes the support given to rural and urban communities to become more resilient and sustainable through the ownership and management of land and land assets from the Scottish Land Fund, with grants of between £5,000 and £1,000,000; commends the community spirit of the local residents who it considers have campaigned tirelessly to save the listed building that is home to a wide range of organisations, community groups and a centre of social and cultural life of Polonia, and wishes everyone involved the very best for the future.
