  • Submitted by: Bob Doris, Glasgow Maryhill and Springburn, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 15 February 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-03120

That the Parliament welcomes the Glasgow50 leadership programme, which is run by Common Purpose, and takes place on 3-4 and 7-8 March 2022; notes that the programme encourages 18 to 25-year-olds in Glasgow to collaborate together, gain employability skills, and help Glasgow to continue to progress its ambitions to be a clean and green city; further notes that the purpose of this programme is to consider the question of "How can we act together to transform Glasgow into a cleaner, greener place for all?" through discussion, presentation and debating ideas; acknowledges that what it sees as this beneficial programme is sponsored by the University of Glasgow, Rolls Royce, Police Scotland, and Glasgow City Council; commends the intended benefits of this initiative, which will offer free support, training and leadership opportunities that it considers will be of value to participants by enhancing their employability prospects; encourages young people aged 18 to 25 in Glasgow, including the Maryhill and Springburn constituency, to participate in the initiative, and wishes all members well in their endeavours.
