We are pleased to announce the launch of the Scottish Government and COSLA’s joint initial 2-year Delivery Plan , which sets out the key deliverables we’ll prioritise to help achieve the ambitions set out in our new Dementia Strategy for Scotland, published in May 2023.

’m very proud that both the Strategy and the Delivery Plan have been informed by the voice of people with lived experience of dementia, alongside wider partners, and this engagement will continue throughout the lifetime of the strategy to ensure we hold each other to account.

The Plan outlines the priorities for delivery in the coming 2 years, including a focus on:

• building our communities’ resilience and participation in supporting people living with dementia and their care partners, through the creation of a cross-sector Programme Board to direct investment to community resources, and a national anti-stigma campaign to make people less afraid of talking about dementia, and;
• Ensuring our world-renowned policy of a year’s post diagnostic support for people diagnosed with dementia delivers for everyone, including their care partners, with an independent evaluation to guide our efforts to improve people’s access to support; and
• Enhancing the innovations we are seeing in brain health, through evaluating a new Scottish Government-supported Brain Health Service in Aberdeen (the first of its kind in the UK), and establishing a cross-sector steering group on future novel treatments for dementia, and their impact on services and supports.

The Delivery Plan makes clear that the agreed key deliverables signed off by all partners will be prioritised for funding.

Each of the deliverables will be funded and delivered, with accountability to our Strategy Delivery Group, made up of our Lived Experience Panel and key delivery partners.

I look forward to continuing to work with colleagues across the chamber as we move this ambitious new dementia strategy for Scotland into delivery, to achieve our ambition to keep people living with dementia well for longer, in a setting of their choice.

There are no statistics available on Scotland’s total exports including oil and gas on a quarterly or a financial year basis. On a calendar year basis, the latest available official statistics in development (previously known as experimental statistics) include estimates up to 2021.

Since January 2022 the amount paid by Transport Scotland for legal expenses incurred regarding the use of Ferrymuir Gait to access the Forthview housing development is £14,472.72.

Of the £75 million committed from the Just Transition Fund so far, 10.3% has been awarded to community groups and 52.2% has been allocated for awards to businesses.

Of the 52.2% committed to businesses, £25 million or 33% is made up of the Just Transition Fund’s allocation to the Scottish National Investment Bank.

From 23 March 2022 to end September 2023, 15,765 homes have been delivered towards the 110,000 affordable homes target, of which 12,188 (77%) are homes for social rent. The next set of quarterly statistics, to end December 2023, will be published towards the end of March.

Inflationary pressures, Brexit impacts and wider market conditions have combined to trigger various issues including rising construction costs and workforce challenges. The housing sector has done incredible work to deliver homes in these circumstances and we continue to work with partners to mitigate these impacts.

We remain focused on delivering 110,000 affordable homes by 2032 and to support that we will bring forward the review scheduled for 2026-27 to 2024, which will concentrate on deliverability.

And we are accelerating work with the financial community in Scotland, and elsewhere, to boost private sector investment and help deliver more homes.

As trunk road maintenance costs are held on a whole route basis we are unable to provide figures for the section of the A90 trunk road from Dundee to Aberdeen.

However, please see the following table for details of how much was spent on improving drainage on the whole of the A90 trunk road for the financial years 2019-20 onwards. These works are in addition to regular asset inspections undertaken through the maintenance contracts, which then develop and prioritises programmes of works.

We are investing £752 million in affordable housing in 2023-24 to increase the delivery of more affordable homes, the majority of which will be for social rent, including supporting a £60 million national acquisition programme.

To effectively meet housing need and support affordable housing priorities across different areas we want to support all tenures whilst still prioritising social rented homes.

We remain focused on delivering 110,000 affordable homes by 2032 of which at least 70% will be for social rent and 10% in rural ands island areas.

The Chief Executive of Ferguson Marine provided the most recent costs for completion of the vessels to the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee in September 2023.

The Chief Executive also informed the NZET Committee in January that the estimated total cost to complete both vessels was being reviewed and the outcome would be notified to the Committee and Scottish Government before 23rd February.

Following a period of berthing trials and crew familiarisation the MV Glen Sannox (Hull 801) is set to be operational eight weeks after handover. The handover date is also in the process of being revised by Ferguson Marine and we expect this to be notified with the updated forecast costs.

The Scottish Government has a broad range of delivery programmes which make advice and funding support on energy efficiency and low carbon heating available to households and businesses across Scotland. The Home Energy Scotland (HES) and Business Energy Scotland (BES) advice services offer free, bespoke, impartial advice, and also act as the gateway to our flagship fuel poverty scheme, Warmer Homes Scotland, and to other Scottish Government funding schemes such as the HES Grant and Loan and the SME Loan and Cashback.

Scotland’s Heat Network Fund (SHNF) supports the construction of new zero direct emission heat networks and communal heating systems, as well as the expansion and decarbonisation of existing heat networks across Scotland.

Registered Social Landlords are encouraged to make use of available funding sources for retrofit, which includes the Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund. This fund supports both the deployment of clean heating and ”fabric first” enhancements, helping landlords deliver warmer and more energy efficient homes.

Communities and local council areas are also supported through Area Based Schemes (ABS), delivered by all local authorities in Scotland, which target fuel poor areas to provide energy efficiency measures to a large number of Scottish households and help reduce fuel poverty, and the Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) which provides advice and funding to communities across Scotland looking to develop renewable energy, heat decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects.

No individual has been or will be, invited to lead the maths curriculum review by Scottish Government. The appointment of a national maths specialist will be open and transparent, following established Scottish Government recruitment procedures.
