Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government whether the Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy, Fair Work and Energy will instruct the Grangemouth Future Industry Board to have as its overriding strategic purpose the need for Scotland to have its own oil refinery, in light of reports that retaining this element of the Grangemouth business would reflect the importance of the site as a national economic asset.

To ask the Scottish Government what measures are in place to ensure that the 6.5% increase in practice staff earnings, as part of the uplifted General Medical Services (GMS) contract for 2023-24, is applied to all practice staff, including general practice nurses, particularly in practices not aligned with the Agenda for Change, in light of reported instances where staff have only received a 3% pay rise.
