To ask the Scottish Executive on how many occasions the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing has met (a) officers of NHS Lothian, (b) councillors from West Lothian Council and (c) the St John’s Hospital stakeholders group since May 2007.
Answer
I have met regularly with officers of NHS Lothian and councillors from West Lothian Council to discuss a wide range of issues.
I fully supported West Lothian Council''s and NHS Lothian''s decision in March 2008 to set up the St John''s Hospital Stakeholder Group. I have not met with the group but I am reassured that representatives of West Lothian Council and NHS Lothian are working together on a regular basis to progress areas of common interest in West Lothian.

To ask the Scottish Executive what further consideration it has given since April 2009 to alternatives to the council tax for funding local government.
Answer
As I said in Parliament on 11 February 2009 the Cabinet has decided not to introduce legislation to abolish the unfair council tax and replace it with a local income tax until after the election in 2011. However, the government will fight that election to win a parliamentary majority that backs the abolition of the unfair council tax. We are continuing to work to prepare for that outcome.

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S3W-25247 by Stewart Stevenson on 29 July 2009, whether it will guarantee that the setting of the reimbursement rate payable to bus operators will not result in any adverse changes in the eligibility criteria for the free bus travel scheme.
Answer
The work we have commissioned to improve the evidence for setting the reimbursement rate for operators under the Scotland-wide older and disabled persons concessionary bus scheme will not have an adverse impact on those who are currently eligible to make use of the scheme.

In line with Scottish Government policy, we do not intend to publish the invitation list for the National Conversation event held in Livingston on 16 June as it contains personal data for a number of delegates.
However, over 170 representatives of the voluntary sector, church and other faith groups, business organisations, universities, trade unions, local authorities, ethnic minority groups, young people and members of the public attended the event.
