Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S5W-08819 by Roseanna Cunningham on 2 May 2017, how wider biodiversity impacts of new planting, in particular of non-native commercial timber species and impacts on upland habitats and breeding birds, are taken into consideration to strategically inform new planting proposals and permissions to ensure that the right tree is planted in the right place.
