To ask the Scottish Executive what impact a return to standing areas at football grounds would have on policing.
Answer
This would be an operational matter for the relevant Chief Constable to consider in discussion with the football authorities. However, the Scottish Government remains to be convinced that there is any merit in bringing back standing at football grounds.

To ask the Scottish Executive what its position is on the recent announcement by BP that North Sea oil reserves will last until at least 2050.
Answer
The Scottish Government welcomes the recent announcement by BP and its partners that they are investing £10 billion over the next five years in the development of four new oil and gas projects in the North Sea. This demonstrates that the offshore industry has a key role in generating jobs and revenues for decades to come.
With up to 40 per cent of oil and gas reserves still to be extracted and well over half of the revenues still to be generated, BP’s investment decision confirms there is still plenty of life left in the North Sea.
