Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government for what reason people over the age of 16, or 19, if in full-time education, and people under 60 who have dementia, a neurological disorder, a mental health disorder or cancer and who have an income of more than £16,700 or are not on benefits, are not eligible for assistance from the minor ailment service in managing minor ailments, therefore go to their GP for a free prescription.
