Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive how many category B calls were attended by double-crewed ambulances in under 14 minutes in the city of Aberdeen in each of the last three years.

The national response time target for category B calls (serious but not life threatening) across mainland Scotland is that, by March 2009, 95% of all incidents should be reached within 14, 19 or 21 minutes depending on population density. For the NHS Grampian area, the target is 21 minutes.

For the city of Aberdeen, category B performance is set out in the following table. Detail about which type of vehicles responded to calls is an operational matter for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
