Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive how many cases of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) have been (a) reported and (b) recorded in (i) 2000, (ii) 2001, (iii) 2002 and (iv) 2003, broken down by hospital; how many patients have had their stay in hospital extended owing to MRSA infection, and how much has been incurred by the NHS in extra costs arising from MRSA.
