That the Parliament congratulates NHS Grampian on winning the Innovations in Neurology Award at the Scottish Healthcare Awards 2024, which were held at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow on 20 November; understands that the winning project, Partnering with Pharmacy Teams to Improve Migraine Management, was set up in conjunction with The Migraine Trust and underpinned by the principles of value-based health and care and realistic medicine, to improve recognition and management for people living with migraines through co-creation of learning and resources for pharmacy teams, promoting public awareness of migraine presentation and available resources, and promoting public awareness of what a community pharmacy can offer; further understands that migraine is a lifelong neurological disorder, which features amplification of a number of sensory pathways, recognised as the second leading cause of disability worldwide, and affecting around one in seven people in the UK; believes that this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the collaboration, and hopes that the project makes a real difference in migraine management, improving the lives of many.
