Bo'ness Storehouse Foodbank's New Partnership to Drive Donations

  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 14 November 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15453
  • Current status: Fallen

That the Parliament congratulates the Bo'ness Storehouse Foodbank on its partnership with Tesco and FareShare; notes that the Bo'ness Storehouse Foodbank, established in September 2012 and run entirely by local volunteers, provides support to over 150 households in need of food support in the Bo'ness area; understands that the partnership with FareShare and Tesco will result in the Storehouse receiving further weekly donations and surplus food provision, which would have otherwise gone to waste, in addition to the logistical support that Tesco offers the group through the provision of pallets at the Storehouse's premises; recognises what it sees as the positive role that businesses like Tesco can play in supporting local communities through third sector organisations, such as the Bo'ness Storehouse Foodbank, and wishes everyone involved all the best in the future, particularly in the lead up to Christmas 2024.
