That the Parliament welcomes the opening of BAE Systems' £12 million Applied Shipbuilding Academy at Scotstoun shipyard in Glasgow; understands that this facility will equip a new generation of shipbuilders, from apprentices to senior leaders, with essential skills, and further understands that, by offering hands-on training in realistic ship mock-ups, the Academy will support the development of around 4,500 employees, securing jobs and reinforcing what it sees as Scotland's leadership in shipbuilding.
