  • Submitted by: Clare Adamson, Motherwell and Wishaw, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 15 May 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13235

That the Parliament commends Get Walking Lanarkshire on its 10th anniversary; understands that Get Walking Lanarkshire was established in 2014 by NHS Lanarkshire, both local councils and Paths for All to encourage people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the health and social benefits of "putting their best foot forward"; commends that nearly 76,000 walkers have taken part in more than 7,000 of the weekly strolls, thanks to the help of 90 dedicated walk leaders, six of whom are still leading from the front having been involved for the decade-long history of the project; welcomes that a series of four special walks have been planned to take place between 13 and 16 May 2024 to mark the 10th anniversary, including one in Baron’s Haugh and Dalzell Estate in Motherwell, and wishes Get Walking Lanarkshire all the best for the future.
