That the Parliament celebrates the 50th anniversary of the twinning of Kreis (district) Heinsberg in the west of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with the Midlothian region in Scotland; understands that the two regions have been twinned since 1973 during which time they have sustained a fruitful and mutually beneficial relationship; notes that there will be an event to mark the occasion hosted by Provost Debbi McCall at Rosslyn Chapel on 24 November 2023, which will be attended by 23 German visitors and the new Consul General for Scotland, Christiane Hullman; wishes all those attending an enjoyable evening, and hopes that the twinning continues to go from strength to strength.
