That the Parliament recognises Young Carers Action Day, which takes place on 15 March 2023; understands that this is a day to raise awareness of the UK’s young carers and young adult carers, acknowledge what it sees as the incredible contribution they make by caring for their family members and friends, and call for more action and support to help them lead full and healthy lives; further understands that the theme for 2023 is "Make Time for Young Carers", which highlights the need for professionals and responsible adults to make more time to listen to young carers' explanations of the challenges they face, so that they can better understand the support young carers actually need; believes that, once they understand the sort of support that is required, responsible adults then need to make time to put that support in place; commends the work of Carers Trust Scotland, and other local and national organisations, to support young and young adult carers in Scotland, and pledges to continue advocating for the children, young people and young adults who take on caring responsibilities.
