Eastwood Groups Receive National Lottery Community Funding

That the Parliament congratulates groups promoting worthy causes in Eastwood on securing access to important National Lottery funding to take forward key local initiatives; notes that the Eastwood groups to receive support include Avalon (Autism Parental Support and Respite Services), in Newton Mearns, which is in receipt of almost £85,000 so that a monthly get-together for families can be arranged alongside an intensive wellbeing programme to take place twice per year, Cosgrove Care, in Giffnock, which has been awarded £10,000 and the funding is to be used on establishing a sensory garden for people who are living with additional support needs, and I Love Clarkston Ltd with an award of £5,000 to put together a festive community event; acknowledges that the National Autistic Society has also been awarded £9,500 to organise digital workshops for young people in East Renfrewshire who have been diagnosed with autism and are aged between 12 and 18; recognises that the Eastwood groups and projects in receipt of the financial support are amongst 299 throughout Scotland to be given a share of over £11 million from the National Lottery Community Fund in new grants; welcomes the funding made available by the National Lottery to support worthy local causes in Eastwood, and wishes the groups every success with their vital activities.
