That the Parliament pays tribute to actor Robbie Coltrane OBE after he passed away on 14 October 2022 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert; recognises the outstanding contributions he made to film and television, including his iconic roles as Fitz in Cracker, Hagrid in the Harry Potter films and Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky in James Bond films GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough; understands that he won numerous awards and honours during his career, including three Best Actor British Academy Television Awards, an Outstanding Contribution to Film award from British Academy Scotland Awards and an OBE in 2006 for his services to drama; further understands that Robbie Coltrane OBE was born in Rutherglen, Lanarkshire, in 1950 but in later life moved to Killearn, Stirlingshire, where he became a familiar face in the community; understands that Robbie Coltrane OBE took an interest in political activism throughout his life and was involved in organisations such as Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), Greenpeace and Amnesty International; wishes to pay tribute to Robbie Coltrane OBE, and sends deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.
