Rev Aftab Gohar Service to the Communities of Grangemouth

  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 12 January 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-02743

That the Parliament thanks the Reverend Aftab Gohar for his service to the communities of Grangemouth as the Minister of Abbotsgrange Parish Church since 2008; understands that Rev Gohar has taken up a new role as the Minister of Peebles Old Parish Church; further understands that he became the first person born and raised in South Asia to be installed as a Presbytery Moderator in 2021 and that he addressed the Scottish Parliament at Time for Reflection in the same year; believes that the Rev Gohar will be missed by his former parishioners and the communities of Grangemouth, and wishes him and his family the very best for their next chapter in Peebles.
