John Docherty OBE

That the Parliament notes the retirement of John Docherty OBE, after 17 years of what it sees as exemplary service as the headteacher of St Ninians’s High School in Giffnock; understands that, under his stewardship, the school was awarded the best ever secondary inspection report to be issued by Education Scotland; notes John’s dedication to his profession, with over four decades teaching in Scotland; commends what it sees as his dedication to supporting pupils, parents and members of staff, by leading by example and helping everyone around them, and wishes him and his wife Helena the very best for their retirement.
