That the Parliament commends the outstanding commitment of volunteers and staff at the social enterprise, Babes in the Wood; acknowledges what it sees as the immense impact of the annual Christmas Toy Collection that enabled constituents to select a gift, by age, to be delivered to the Bishopbriggs boutique for sorting, wrapping and onward gifting to local children; applauds the partnership working of Babes in the Wood with East Dunbartonshire Council Social Work Department to identify need and liaise with families; wishes to record that it is humbled by the generosity of the wider community in ensuring that around 300 local children can receive individually-selected gifts, which will, it considers, add some sparkle to their Christmas; thanks Babes in the Wood for its year-round support of local families through the allocation of beautifully-presented baby equipment, children’s clothing, toys and other items; delights at the recent award of £10,000 from the National Lottery Awards for All programme to purchase a van and hire a driver to enable the collection of donated items and deliveries to be made to families who do not have access to transport, and extends its heartfelt thanks to the team at Babes in the Wood for its unwavering commitment to families in the constituency of Strathkelvin and Bearsden.
