92-year-old Meg Main, Aqua Aerobics Instructor, Renfrew’s Victory Baths

  • Submitted by: Natalie Don, Renfrewshire North and West, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 21 December 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02488

That the Parliament commends Renfrew resident, Meg Main, for returning to her aqua aerobics instructor role for the Over-50s Club at the town’s Victory Baths, following a heart attack and a fall which broke and dislocated her hip; understands that Meg, aged 92, has run the class for more than 20 years and, as the oldest swimmer at the venue, was guest of honour at its centenary celebrations earlier in 2021; appreciates that, in the past, Meg would swim five days a week, and wishes her well in continuing to inspire Renfrew residents to benefit from swimming and doing aquatic exercises to stay fit and healthy.
