  • Submitted by: Annie Wells, Glasgow, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 19 November 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02178

That the Parliament congratulates the charities, SmartyPants and Kindness Glasgow, on teaming up to hand out underwear to homeless and vulnerable people on the streets of Glasgow; understands that the new social impact business, SmartyPants, donated more than a hundred pairs of underwear to the Kindness team, which they distributed together; notes that underwear is one of the most requested items from homeless shelters, and that for every pair purchased, SmartyPants donates a second pair on behalf of the customer; understands that Kindness Glasgow was created to assist homeless and vulnerable people within Glasgow, and that it aims to provide hot drinks, clothing, toiletries and essentials; acknowledges that it has a pop-up soup kitchen on George Square four evenings per week, and supplies an outreach team to cover more areas of the city centre, and commends everyone involved.
